I could think of million of other bikes that would tour 100x better than the 690/701.. all of which have MUCH more comfortable saddles, a proper windshield, more fuel capacity, probably a fuel gauge, better instrumentation, probably better engine harmonics, etc Mine gets insanely good fuel mileage with all kinds of mods, like 50+ mpg in Enduro setup. If you put SM kit on it and ride it 100mph all day, it drops to the lower 40s, like 42-45mpg. Link to comment I had three separate instances of stalling with my 690. The first was a nearly broken wire on my aftermarket kickstand cutout switch causing random stalling while riding. The second was a cracked ceramic insulator on my sparkplug causing it to ground out instead of the spark reaching the cylinder.
