A lot of the chassis on the 890 Duke R is the same as the 790, but with small, yet significant, differences. The 890 weighs less, not because of any fancy new improvement, but because KTM put a
Service intervals remain conveniently long at about 9,000 miles. RELATED: Its MSRP is still not disclosed, but as a reference, the base MSRP of the 2023 KTM 790 Duke is $9,199. It’s likely
6. Jul 19, 2023. #1. There seem to be a lot of incidences of early cam wear (intake lobes mostly) on the KTM LC8c engine (parallel twin 790 and 890cc). Often under 10k kms. It seems to be much more common in the ADV bikes using this engine and not the Duke. The ADV is tuned for more low end torque and the Duke for more top end, and use
I used Motul 7100 10W-50, bought the bike at 10 000 km (before me they had done the run-in change and 2 changes after), I changed at 13000, 18000 and 26000. The latest oil change was delayed quite a bit because of my lazyass but nowhere near the service interval KTM "recommends", which is every 15 000 km.
There are a few things at 9,300 miles that were not on the list for the initial service, but what I would call 'major' service (valve check and change plugs) is at 18,600 miles. I am surprised at the 9,300 mile oil change interval. But it does call for it every year anyway. Discussion starter. 188 posts · Joined 2019.
The valve check and spark plug replacement must be done every 30,000Km/18600 miles. These items are mileage related only - no time requirement on them. The mileage / time thing states: “The relevant mileage or time interval is whichever occurs first.” on page 10. @pgm is right on that. //Bob. '06 950SM, ‘22 Duke 890R.
DXoChrv. The 2023 KTM 790 Duke retains the 799cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. While the standard version of the motorcycle will deliver 103bhp, the A2-compliant model will produce a relatively lower output of 94bhp. The A2 model will be sold in the European markets only. This motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox with an assist and a slipper

I had my shift Shaft sensor reprogrammed on my KTM 790 as part of its initial service. I didn't ask them to, it's just part of KTMs service interval now to try and limit the amount of false neutrals and miss shifts. Now the quickshifter lurches the bike forward on up shifts. Prior to the service it was smooth as butter.
A bike with long service intervals and a warranty for the road should at least make it to the second service. I had two and the first one didn't get to the first service. The second bike let me down three times before it dropped it's guts. Don't see Triumph, Kawasaki or Honda falling apart. Save your money. I dropped a bundle selling the 890.
